Let me be honest with you.
When we first started supplying linen to hotels in Chandigarh and Mohali, a lot of property owners told us the same thing — “hum toh koi bhi sheet laga dete hain, guests ko kya pata chalega.”
And then those same owners would call us back six months later asking why their reviews kept mentioning “uncomfortable beds” or “rough sheets.”
Guests notice. They always do.
So if you’re running a hotel, a guesthouse, or even a single Airbnb unit in the Chandigarh tricity area — this guide is for you. We’re going to break down exactly what to look for when choosing bed linen, so you stop guessing and start investing smartly.
First Things First — Why Does Linen Quality Actually Matter?
Think about the last time you stayed somewhere and the bed just felt right. Crisp, cool sheets. A pillow cover that didn’t feel like it was made of sandpaper. A quilt that was just the right weight.
That feeling is what makes guests leave a 5-star review.
And in a city like Chandigarh — where there are hundreds of Airbnbs and hotels competing for the same guests — that little difference matters a lot.
We’ve seen properties in Mohali and Zirakpur go from 3.8 stars to 4.6 stars just by switching to better linen. Not by renovating. Not by adding a pool. Just better sheets.
On top of that, cheap linen actually costs you more in the long run. It pills, it fades, it tears — and you end up replacing it every few months. Good linen, properly maintained, can last 3 to 5 years.
Fabric Type — The Most Important Decision You’ll Make
Before you even think about thread count or price, you need to decide on fabric. Here’s what’s actually available and what works best for hospitality use:
100% Cotton
This is the one we recommend most often. Cotton breathes well — which matters a lot in Chandigarh summers. It gets softer with every wash. And it looks clean and crisp when ironed, which guests appreciate.
If you’re running any kind of quality property — whether it’s a boutique stay in Sector 17 or a villa in Kasauli — cotton is the way to go.
Cotton-Poly Blend
A mix of cotton and polyester. More wrinkle-resistant, dries faster, and costs less. Good for budget properties or Airbnbs with same-day turnovers where you need linen dried and back on the bed quickly.
The tradeoff? It’s not as breathable and doesn’t feel as premium.
Microfiber
Soft, cheap, and easy to maintain. Works fine for economy stays and hospital settings. But in our honest opinion, it’s not the right choice for any property trying to position itself as premium.
Our take: For most hotels and Airbnbs in Chandigarh, Mohali, and Zirakpur — go with 100% cotton. It’s the safest investment for long-term quality.
Thread Count — Don’t Get Fooled by Big Numbers
Thread count is probably the most misunderstood thing in the linen world.
People see “800 TC” on a label and think it must be amazing. But honestly? A 300 TC sheet made from good cotton will feel better than an 800 TC sheet made from low-grade material.
Here’s a simple guide that actually makes sense:
- 150-180 TC — Budget stays, economy hotels
- 200-250 TC — Standard 2-3 star hotels, mid-range Airbnbs
- 280-320 TC — Premium hotels, 4-star properties, high-end Airbnbs
- 400+ TC — Luxury stays, boutique hotels, 5-star properties
The sweet spot for most properties in the Chandigarh region? Somewhere between 200 and 300 TC with good quality cotton. You don’t need to spend on 600 TC sheets unless you’re running a five-star experience.
At Skydro, we always let clients feel samples before placing bulk orders. Thread count means nothing if the fabric doesn’t feel right in your hands.
How Much Linen Do You Actually Need?
This is something a lot of first-time hotel and Airbnb owners get wrong. They buy just enough for one set per bed and then panic when laundry is running.
A simple rule we share with all our clients: three sets minimum per bed.
One set on the bed. One in the laundry. One as backup.
If your property has same-day check-in and check-out — which many Airbnbs in Mohali and Zirakpur do — you need at least four sets. Maybe five.
For a 10-room hotel with double beds, that’s roughly 30 to 50 complete linen sets. We handle bulk orders like this regularly — from 20 sets to over 2000 — and deliver across Chandigarh, Mohali, Zirakpur, and all the way to Himachal.
What to Look for in a Linen Supplier
We might be a little biased here — but we’ve also seen what bad suppliers do to a hospitality business. So let us be straightforward about what actually matters.
Consistency
Your linen should look and feel the same in every room. If the sheets in Room 3 feel different from Room 7, guests notice. Always ask for samples and test wash them before placing a bulk order.
Customization
Can the supplier add your hotel logo? Offer custom sizing for non-standard beds? These things matter for properties trying to build a brand. We offer logo embroidery and custom hotel tags on all bulk orders at Skydro.
Local Access
Working with someone in or near Chandigarh means faster delivery, easier returns, and someone you can actually call when something goes wrong. We’re based in Zirakpur — which means most Chandigarh and Mohali orders reach within a day or two.
Honest Pricing
Bulk pricing should actually save you money. We tailor the products ourself — no middlemen — which is why our pricing stays competitive without cutting corners on quality.
A Few Maintenance Tips That Actually Work
Even the best linen won’t last if you don’t take care of it. Here’s what we tell all our hotel clients:
- Always wash new linen once before putting it on a bed — removes sizing and softens the fabric
- Use a mild detergent — strong chemicals break down cotton fibres over time
- Wash at 60°C for hotel use — kills bacteria without damaging most cotton linen
- Don’t overload the washing machine — more friction means more wear
- Rotate your sets regularly — don’t use the same set every single day
- Store in a cool, dry place — humidity yellows white linen faster than anything
Small habits like these can easily double the lifespan of your linen. And that means fewer replacements and lower costs over time.
So — Where Does Skydro Come In?
We started Skydro because we saw a real gap in the market. There were plenty of linen suppliers in India — but very few who were actually accessible to small and mid-sized hospitality businesses in India. Most were targeting big chains or requiring minimum orders that a 10-room hotel simply can’t commit to.
We wanted to change that.
Today, we supply to hotels, Airbnbs, hospitals, gyms, and salons across Chandigarh, Mohali, Zirakpur, Himachal Pradesh and pan India. Our minimum order quantities are flexible. Our pricing is direct and transparent. And our team is available on WhatsApp for anything you need — samples, reorders, or just advice on what to buy.
If you’re setting up a new property or looking to upgrade your existing linen — we’d love to help.
